Landscape Construction Estimating
Visualize the job….
One of your most useful "tools" in landscaping estimating is to use the "art of visualization." It’s learning to "see" the job in your mind and imagination before, during and after the job is completed. In other words, you think the job through and visualize all of the steps needed to complete it. As you do this, you arrange the work in chronological order as close as possible to what will actually take place at the work site once the work begins. If you list the steps needed, if and when you are awarded the work, you’ll have a ready list that will refresh your memory as well as a to-be-done-list to use when planning the job.
The outline on this and the following page can serve as an example of what would be included in "visualizing" a landscape installation in a modest, uncomplicated landscape. You could use this list as a checklist to further develop your own all-encompassing checklist so that you have a starting point to bidding any landscape construction project.
